IT’S time to Get in the Mood and join the Swing Unlimited Big Band’s annual summer concert, A Night at the Movies, which is held at the Regent in Christchurch tomorrow.
They will be presenting the best in big band swing from the silver screen together with a rich blend of movie theme tunes and numbers from the big movie musicals.
This year, the Swing Unlimited Big Band plus guests, return with their hit show featuring film scores and songs inspired by magic and fantasy.
Experience dramatic and beautiful music performed by an expanded big band orchestra playing classics such as the theme music for Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and all those Disney family favourites, together with classic standards from the songbooks of legendary artists like Frank Sinatra and Ella Fitzgerald – all performed by this superb 20-piece big band orchestra and singers.
Swing Unlimited Big Band was founded in 2001 by James Stead and Patrick Peiro to allow local musicians to play together and has been bringing big band swing to local audiences all round the South Coast ever since.
