CASTING has been announced for Macbeth, which comes to Mayflower Theatre from February 26 until March 2, 2019.

Scottish actor Michael Nardone will play the title role in National Theatre Director Rufus Norris’ touring production, with Kirsty Besterman joining the cast as Lady Macbeth.

The remaining touring ensemble is Joseph Brown as Malcolm, Elizabeth Chan as Witch, Nisa Cole as Fleance, Reuben Johnson as Doctor, Helen Katamba as Murderer, Tom Mannion as Duncan and Siward , Brad Morrison as Murderer, Hauk Pattison as Murderer, Evelyn Roberts as Witch and Boy, James Robinson as Lennox, Patrick Robinson as Banquo, Duncan Ross (ensemble), Rachel Sanders as Ross, Olivia Sweeney as Witch and Gentlewoman, Deka Walmsley as Porter, Ross Waiton as Macduff, and Lisa Zahra as Lady Macduff.

Directed by NT Artistic Director Rufus Norris and designed by Rae Smith, this production propels Shakespeare’s classic title into a post-apocalyptic world of anarchy and uncertainty.

Michael Nardone played Frisky in BBC One’s The Night Manager. His work on stage includes the Duke of Cornwall in King Lear at the National Theatre and the title role in Peribanez at the Young Vic.

On television he has also appeared as Jonas in BBC One’s Rellik and as DCI Whiteside in BBC Scotland’s River City.

Kirsty Besterman's credits include Genesis Inc. at Hampstead Theatre, They Drink It in The Congo at the Almeida Theatre, and BBC One’s Father Brown.

Macbeth is produced on tour by the NT, creators of War Horse and The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time.
