AS VICKY Park Festival heads into its 4th year, the family friendly festival has expanded to a two day event, with tribute themed music tonight, featuring Call Me Blondie, Strolling Stones, Never 42 and Yellow.

The musical extravaganza continues tomorrow from midday until 11pm with a stella line-up of local acts including headliners The Hattie Jaques Playlist – an eight-piece band playing their own unique mix of soul and Brit-pop.

The bands musical roots stem from a love of 1960’s soul music and an appreciation of much of the Brit-pop genre.

Saturday kicks off with Future Music Battle of the Bands winner, Djuno, with their alternative rock blend of raw, emotive lyrics, building systemic guitar riffs and powerful drumming.

They’re followed by sets from Chandler, The Pocket Rockers, Alex Higgins, singer-songwriter Lottie J, local legend Ben Dlugokecki and Nicole McNally.

Up next and packing a mean groove is four-piece rock band, Lost or Stolen, before experimental Indie rock group, Jigsaw Eyesore take to the stage ahead of Indie rock group, Green Embers.

Skamageddon – a nine-piece collective of ska and Reggae continue the party feel and Nothing to Lose makes sure the dancing doesn’t stop with covers from The Beatles to Kings of Leon.

The Shakeups will then treat festival goers to retro covers from the ‘50s, ‘60s and ‘70s.

Away from the main stage will be awesome inflatable fun with a range of bouncy castles to choose from – pit your wits against a 40ft inflatable crocodile assault course, or see how many times you can go down the 20ft high inflatable slide,

Ahead of the party, which kicks off at 6pm, weekend festival goers with camping can arrive this afternoon, pitch a tent and settle in with a walk along the shore before enjoying some one of the delicious food options from gourmet burgers to paella, finished off with a sweet waffle or ice cream. Drinks can be bought from the licensed bar, with coffee from a dedicated onsite barista.

The festival is designed for the whole family, and will be packed with side shows and attractions for the kids, including face painting, henna tattooing and miniature fair ground rides.
