AFTER his sold out performance last September with the Cathedral Chamber choir, guitarist Michael Durrant returns with friends and an exciting new programme on Tuesday at 1pm.

Having established himself as one of England’s finest and most creative young classical guitarists, Michael is one of the most exciting instrumentalists of the current generation.

Growing up in the beautiful setting of the Worcestershire countryside in England, he began his lifelong relationship with this enchanting instrument at the age of four and continues to inspire audiences across the world with his deeply expressive playing and engaging character.

He is widely recognised for presenting beautifully varied concert programmes, his captivating stage-persona, and his ability to summon forth a huge variety of tone-colours from his special handmade instrument.

A truly international artist, as well as performing throughout the UK at venues including the majestic Winchester Cathedral, his touring has taken him to countries such as Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Canada, USA, Brazil, Spain, Italy, France, Vietnam, Sweden, Norway, Denmark, Croatia, Andorra and the Caribbean.

Lunchtime Recitals are free to attend and a retiring collection will be taken to defray expenses and support the cathedral music programme.
