1 In Millbrook...

Blake Entertainment is hosting a fantastic family funday at Test Park Sports Facility on Sunday between 10am and 6pm with five live bands, bar, bouncy castles, slides, surf simulator, face painting and glitter tattoos, candy floss and popcorn, cosplay, dance displays, dog show and so much more. All to raise money for the paediatric intensive care unit at University Hospital Southampton – any donation is gratefully received.

2 In Portsmouth...

Following Holbein’s portrait of Henry VIII that visitors built in May half-term, the Mary Rose is going even bigger! This summer, visitors are invited to recreate with LEGO bricks, the colourful Cowdray engraving, a giant picture of Tudor Portsmouth featuring the sinking Mary Rose.

The finished mosaic will be 12 metres wide and 3 metres tall, one of the largest LEGO brick mosaics ever made in the UK.

Participants will also make and take home their own mini LEGO brick model.

3 In West End...

What better activity to bring the kids along to during the summer holidays than a spot of #BeMyRock painting and decorating at Itchen Valley Country Park on Saturday.

The National Fostering Agency's rock painting and treasure hunting initiative is encouraging supporters to start painting, hiding, sharing and finding rocks and stones with the #BeMyRock tag on the back.

By joining our #BeMyRock Facebook group, and sharing pictures of your hides and seeks, you will be helping to raise awareness of the need in the UK for an increasing number of reliable fostering caring 'rocks' for the 77,000+ children currently needing care.

4 In Aldermoor...

The Rose Road Association is holding their Vintage Summer Fayre at the Bradbury Centre on Sunday between 1 and 4pm.

Revel in the nostalgia of fayre games and activities from years gone by, food and refreshments for everyone including ice cream, cakes, a BBQ, and even a mocktail station.

There will be face painting and hair braiding available on the day for anyone wanting to look like their favourite character, have their hair done, or even both!

Meanwhile, a table top sale will be taking place inside the main hall for those also looking for a bargain. Entry for buyers is free.

So, with food, drink and entertainment available for all, why enjoy an afternoon of good, old fashioned fun – and maybe win a prize or two.

5 In Colden Common...

Marwell Zoo welcomes Mr Bloom from CBeebies with his one man show this summer for selected weekends.

Why not, pop along and say ‘Ello!’ with CBeebies star Mr Bloom. There’ll be a bundle of veggie stories, gardening games, and catchy Nursery songs for tiddlers and parents alike.

To sum it up in the words of a famous Aubergine: ‘Let’s sing and dance and have some fun!’

Throughout summer, young families will also be charmed by a live action puppet show – featuring hilarious Marvellous Marwellous mechanical man-eating plant puppets.

Crazy botanist Dr Chris Anthemum will tell the story of his travels to find a rare plant for the zoo’s new Tropical House, which has grown a little more than he bargained for! His show takes place every weekday throughout August.

6 In Alresford...

The world’s favourite little blue tank engine returns to the Watercress Line from Saturday til August 12, accompanied by the Fat Controller and Rusty.

This year Thomas’ visit has been made even better with the addition of exciting funfair rides and lots of tasty new food options to discover. It’s certainly a highlight of Hampshire’s summer event calendar.

Visitors can enjoy unlimited trips pulled by famous engines throughout the day, including Thomas the Tank Engine and on Toad the Brake Van, shake hands with The Fat Controller and take part in lots of other Thomas-themed activities at the Imagination Stations.

The fun-filled experience continues at Ropley Station, with vintage fairground rides Dobbies and chair-o-planes, Rusty, the miniature railway and a story corner featuring Thomas stories.

7 In Eastleigh...

Eastleigh's very own free Urban Beach is back in town for the whole of august!

It will be in the Market Place, at the top of town and deckchairs, bucket and spades will be waiting for you, all you need to do is slap on the sunscreen, sit back and enjoy the summer without the hassle of travelling to the beach.

8 In Portsmouth...

Sound the Octo-Alert! Children’s favourites, the Octonauts will be adventuring their way up the Emirates Spinnaker Tower on Saturday. Meet Captain Barnacles and Kwazii from the hit Cbeebies show Octonauts, appearance times at 11am, 12pm, 1pm, 2pm, 3pm and 4pm. Standard admission prices apply.

9 In Romsey...

Friday Sir Harold Hillier Gardens will host a family day with a butterfly theme to coincide with the peak time of butterfly activity.

Enjoy a fun day of butterfly themed activities run in conjunction with Butterfly Conservation. The day includes a number of guided walks along Centenary Border looking at butterflies and the plants which attract these delightful insects. There will also be butterfly themed craft activities and games designed for children throughout the day.

Suggested donation price is £1.50 per person and runs from 10am until 4pm.

10 In Bitterne...

Collect your 50p map and guide from the Block Party Play Cafe and explore Bitterne to find the LEGO Brick sculptures in and around the local area.

Each sculpture has been hand crafted in local schools and community groups with the help of Block Party's own LEGO Laura and features a different LEGO letter to answer the Brick Hunt question.

Completed entries can be returned to the Block Party Play Cafe to receive a sticker and certificate and all certificate holders will go into a prize draw to win a host of goodies from various locations at the end of the trail.

Share a selfie of yourself on the trail with the hashtag #bitternebrickhunt before September 16 to be in with a chance to win one of five play passes valid for a whole month.
