A HOTLY-TIPPED band from the north has announced their first headline show in Southampton.

Oddity Road, made up of lead-singer Jack Heath, lead guitarist Dan Brennan, bassist Joel Gilbourne and drummer Ethan Lambert, will play The Joiners on Saturday September 22.

The South Yorkshire and Hope Valley teenagers have already gathered a sizeable following in the north after gigging wherever they can and selling out shows their own shows in Sheffield and Manchester.

They are no strangers to the south either having supported The Sherlocks at The Old Fire Station in Bournemouth and The Electric Ballroom in London in February.

On the same tour, they were on first on the bill at Manchester’s Victoria Warehouse, playing to more than 3,500 people just two years after writing their first song.

Earlier this year they released their debut single Don’t Hold Me Down, an infectious guitar-fuelled, big-beat indie tune that was championed by BBC Introducing in the Midlands.

The lads say they have more songs ready for release and now want to build an even bigger fan base across the country. They play The Joiners, St Mary Street, on Saturday September 22. Tickets at oddityroad.co.uk.
