1 In Winchester...

The Stone Festival returns to Winchester Cathedral this weekend, with a packed few days of events.

Starting tomorrow, masons will gather within the inner close of the cathedral and carve sculptures of their own design, based around the theme King and Scribes.

All carvings are to be auctioned off on Sunday afternoon beginning at 2.30pm, with the proceeds going towards the ongoing restoration work at the Cathedral.

Visitors will have the opportunity to try carving and learn more about the ancient art which has seen to have a vital impact on the Cathedral to this date. Food and drink can be bought on site, with entry to the event being free.

2 In Chilworth...

Spoil your dad this Father’s Day by taking him and the family to Chilworth Manor Hotel on Sunday.

The beautiful family gardens at Chilworth Manor Hotel will play host to a barbecue with real ales and beers brewed in Hampshire. For afters, enjoy an ice-cream whilst listening to live music and the Osprey Roadshow.

The Muddy Bucket Mobile Roadshow will also be attending, exhibiting their miniature farm where kids can pet and play with the animals and meet their miniature horse, miniature Mediterranean donkey, pygmy goats and more!

For those that don’t want to miss out on the World Cup, Costa Rica v Serbia will be screened in the lounge from 1pm.

Tickets cost £5 with under 16s free. £2.50 from each ticket will be donated to nominated charity, No Limits.

3 In Exbury...

Across the weekend Exbury Gardens & Steam Railway will be hosting a Model Railway Expo in their Engine Shed - just in time for Father's Day!

The models on display will be both modern image and from the steam era, including a selection of mainline 00 and end to end 00 gauges.

The event will showcase a variety of track layouts in different sizes with running models, and there is also a trade stand attending on both days. No pre-booking is required, as entry is included with standard admission into the gardens.

4 In Lordshill...

The mermaid swim is back on Saturday between 2 and 4pm at Oaklands Community Pool!

You will need your own tail as they do not have any at the pool, but the event will be closely supervised by a of trained lifeguards.

Please be aware swimmers should be competent at swimming a minimum of 25m above the water and feel comfortable swimming under water. They also ask that you make yourself aware of the health and safety requirements of your tail. T

he two hour session will cost £5 per person, but if the lifeguards feel you are not competent they will not allow you to swim with the tail.

5 In Lymington...

Hampshire Hounds Dog Rescue is holding its annual Dog Show and Family Fun Day on Saturday at Strawberry Fields in Boldre between 10am and 3pm.

And it's set to be better than last year with lots going on, including ferret racing, flyball, rocket dog, lure racing, Ask the Vet, live music, face painting, inflatables, Best in Show, parade of Hampshire Hounds, loads of stalls, food and drink and free parking. There's certainly something for everyone!

6 In Totton...

Totton and Eling Carnival is back for the 104th year on Saturday at 4pm, and more than 3000 people are expected to line the streets for the popular event.

Organisers hope that the colourful event will bring businesses and residents in the town together to celebrate all that is good and great in Totton.

There will be floats, marching bands, live music and a fun fair, as well as steam engines and the tradition carnival queens. The carnival was previously under threat due to a lack of community support and funding to help pay for insurance, medical cover and security costs until Totton College agreed to a deal that will see it become the main sponsor.

7 In Winchester...

Raver Tots is coming to Winchestival this weekend with Wideboys and more!

Raver Tots is a family rave where kids and grown-ups can hit the dance floor and let off steam together.

There is tons of fun for kids – face painting, UV lights, bubbles, balloons, confetti and giant parachutes in a rave style atmosphere with some of the UK's top DJs including residents Artful Dodger, Brandon Block, Slipmatt and Nicky Blackmarket.

All tickets must be purchased in advance and a percentage of all profits go to charities that support children with Autism and ADHD.

8 In Southampton...

Around the Walls in 80 minutes continues this Sunday, providing a interesting insight into Southampton’s history.

Around the Walls in 80 minutes sees history fans follow the walls visiting towers, gates, vaults and the castle of the King of England.

It's a story of both England and France, a time of war when Southampton was on the front line and the time when the city was starting to look back over its own past to its foundation by the legendary Sir Bevis.

Tickets for the walk are priced at £5, with children free. The walk begins from Bargate in the High Street at 10am.

9 In Hamble...

The fourth bi-annual River Hamble Games takes place on Saturday.

From rowing to running, it's another great event that brings the communities together to celebrate everything that's fantastic about being on, in and by the wonderful River Hamble!

You don't need to compete to have fun. There will be lots of shore side activities, from the annual tug 'o war to children's activities, the Games will be fun for the whole family.

Down at the Hamble Foreshore there will be a range of children's entertainment kindly put on by, and raising money for, the Friends of Hamble Primary School.
