THERE is no one better to give an insight into the roller coaster life of guitar god Jimi Hendrix – Leon Hendrix is the younger musician brother of arguably the greatest rock guitarist ever to live.

Jimi died on September 18, 1970, joining The Forever 27 Club – the roll call of rock musicians who have passed away at the tender age of 27.

The American superstar’s last performance was at the iconic 1970 Isle of Music Festival where he played to a 600,000 strong audience.

A bronze statue of the Hendrix which stands outside the island’s Freshwater Museum is a permanent reminder of the rock icon.

The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame describes him as "arguably the greatest instrumentalist in the history of rock music".

In his hugely successful, yet short career, he managed to shape the future of rock guitar playing probably more than anyone.

Throughout Jimi’s career, Leon Hendrix was his constant companion and for the first time in the United Kingdom he is to embarking on a theatre tour which includes The Concorde, Eastleigh on June 14.

Part of an astounding band Leon will showcase his brother’s glittering catalogue of hits and more, as well as recalling his first-hand experiences of recording and touring with Jimi.

He will talk about the legendary Woodstock Festival as well as revealing the private life of a true rock legend.

His recollections of life with his remarkable older brother will hold the audience spellbound.

Not only will Leon talk openly about his life with Jimi, but there will also be an audience Q & A session.

The 70 year-old songwriter and guitarist began playing the guitar later in life and has released several albums. He appeared in the 2004 documentary – Jimi Hendrix: By Those Who Knew Him Best.

There will a chance for a meet and greet or to have a selfie with Leon after the show and share part of the spectacular Jimi Hendrix heritage.
