As part of their work in the focus city of Southampton for the third year of the project, the team at Future Bubblers are bringing their Industry 101 day sessions to Newtown Youth Centre, Graham Road on Wednesday April 11.

One of the principle objectives of Future Bubblers, a non-profit organisation supported by Arts Council England, is to remove the barriers and restrictions that prevent or discourage many young emerging musical talents from pursuing a career, a profession in the world of music. Too often, a lack of knowledge or supportive networks mean that they are left confused and lacking confidence when it comes to navigating the “industry” of music.

The Industry 101 days offer a free, day long introduction to the key topics that young artists have no choice but to confront even at the most grass root stages of their career.

The team have assembled a small but extensively knowledgeable and experience selection of speakers to empower young artists in each city. The session will touch on record deals and contracts, live touring, management and booking agents, marketing and promotion, music publishing and licensing, streaming and distribution.

These sessions are intended as an entry level opportunity and no question is too basic. The information provided is intended to be clear, jargon free, based on real life and current scenarios and actively encourages questions from the young people in the room. Spaces in the sessions are very limited so anyone who’s interested is encouraged to respond and sign up to the RSVP address asap: hello@futurebubblers.com.

The sessions are completely free. All we ask is that attendees are able to commit to the entire day session (11am-5pm), come eager to learn, ready to take advantage of the opportunity to engage directly with the industry, and complete a very short feedback survey at the end of it all.
