Roll over Beethoven because ELO Encounter are bringing the fantastic music of Jeff Lynne’s ELO to the Plaza Theatre in Romsey on Saturday.

ELO Encounter are one of the best loved tributes to Jeff Lynne’s Electric Light Orchestra. The band put on a dazzling performance every time they hit the stage and the show features soaring strings, striking vocal harmonies and a rocking light show.

The ELO Encounter are very much a family affair, headed up by Simon Rownes with sons Jack, Henry and Max alongside Martin Donald, Jasmine Ali, Simon Dove and Ezme.

Each band member is a fantastic musician in their own right, with members having played alongside the original ELO drummer Bev Bevan no less, but they all share a love for ELO and dedicate themselves to accurately representing the band on stage.

Featuring every ELO hit including Evil Woman, Telephone Line, Don’t Bring Me Down, Livin’ Thing, Sweet Talkin’ Woman and many, many more.

The show promises a night filled with Rock, Roll, and Blue Skies! So ‘Hold On Tight’ because Rock'n'Roll’ is king in a show that will have you partying all over the world.

Jack Rownes, the shows vocalist and keyboard player has been delighted by the response the show receives.

"We’ve always loved the music of ELO," he said. "And it’s a great pleasure to play that wonderful music live in theatres all over the country. But it’s the audience’s reaction that we enjoy most, it’s amazing!

"People can’t help singing and dancing along to all the ELO hits, and it’s easy to forget just how many great hits ELO had."
