A NIGHT at the movies in Southampton is about to get even better as Harbour Lights Picturehouse launches Hampshire’s first ever dog-friendly screening!

No, you haven’t gone barking-mad – grab your pooch and your pup-corn on Sunday March 25 at 11am for a special preview showing of Wes Anderson’s newest release, Isle of Dogs, where you and your furry friend can relax and enjoy the movie together at the Ocean Village cinema.

At Harbour Lights Picturehouse dogs have always been allowed to hang out in the bar and on the patio, but now customers are invited to bring their favourite four-legged friends along to this special one-off opportunity, meaning nobody in the family gets left out.

Dog-friendly cinema screenings have already had success in London, Swansea and Glasgow and what better way to mark the Chinese Year of the Dog than taking your well-behaved best friend for a date night with a difference in the city.

Liz Willcox, General Manager for Harbour Lights Picturehouse, explains: “The screenings have been really popular in our branches around the country, with no major issues of dog behaviour so we’re hoping for the same reaction here.

“This is our first dog-friendly screening here in Southampton, but if it’s a success we are hoping we can run more in the future. We’ve already sold 20 tickets, so we’re expecting at least that many dogs.”

Only owners require tickets and the cinema will supply water bowls inside and outside of the screening a biscuit snack for your pooch, along with blankets so your dog can sit on the seat next to you.

They’ve even got poop bags just in case!

If you don’t want to share your screen with dogs, fear not, there will be a human-only preview in the evening too. To book tickets, visit: www.picturehouses.com or call the box office on: 0871 902 5733.
