LAST year the Hampshire comedy actress and writer Anna Morris burst on to our television screens as the face of ITV2’s hit comedy reality show Bad Bridesmaid.

The show smashed ratings, almost broke Twitter and attracted various celebrity followers such as Sheridan Smith and Scott Mills.

Now Anna has chosen to end the tour of her character comedy show Would Like To Thank... at The Stage Door in Southampton on May 1.

It is fresh from a hugely successful run at the Edinburgh Festival and a UK tour, where she received four-star reviews and was hotly tipped as the next big character comedy star.

Anna was brought up in Chandler’s Ford and attended Thornden School, where her sister Kate Locke teaches history, and Barton Peveril College where she took theatre studies.

Anna said: “I chose to be an actress while studying theatre studies at Barton Peveril, but it took me another decade to be brave enough to get on stage and do comedy. My sister Kate had more faith in me than I did, and secretly sent one of my comedy videos to Miranda Hart’s agents Troika, and shortly afterwards I was signed and haven’t looked back.”

Anna’s unique and interactive show takes place at a chaotic Woman of the Year Awards, and is hosted by her brilliant character Georgina, from her hit viral web series Georgina’s Wedding Blogs, which has over 100,000 YouTube hits.

Confessional and packed with twists, tension, jeopardy and fearless interaction, four diverse contestants, each vividly brought to life by Anna, battle it out for the prize – a ‘mumtrepeneur’ striving to have it all, a singleton activist from ‘The Bitchelors’ campaign group, a domestic goddess with a dark secret, and an inappropriately glamorous war correspondent.

Anna has written four explosive endings, one for each winner, so each show is unique and dependent on the audience vote.

“When I was offered the chance to end my tour in Southampton, I was delighted,” she revealed. “Especially in such a brilliant new cabaret venue, which is perfect for my kind of show.”
